Why parents love us

My son had lessons throughout his time in 1st grade. He really enjoyed the lessons, and it helped keep his interest in learning more math, when the math he was covering in school was too easy for him.

We have a great experience with EMC. The math problems are challenging and appropriate for my child's age, and the teachers are very supportive. My 8-year-old daughter is happy with her teacher and actively solving problems. Thank you so much!

We were one of the first kids in the program. Anna is great! Our kid hated math with a passion before he started his classes with Anna. Anna found a unique approach and now he is one of the top students in his class.

We love the EMC program - I'm so glad that we signed up - it's definitely made my son more confident & proficient with a lot of the math tables that I'd been working hard with him the previous year. I absolutely love that you guys do an amazing job! Thank you!

EMC program proved to be a great fit for my son Egor. Lessons are structured in a game format. Often, it feels like he s not studying but playing a game, and knowledge sticks to him like pollen to the legs of a bee. EMC taught Egor to break down and understand math problems. Before, he couldn't event comprehend what was asked of him!

I think that working with a personal tutor is less effective than a smal group. Children need not just knowledge but also socialization and an environment conducive to learning. My daugther (9 years) took the summer Fun Math course at EMC. There were 5 people in her group and she had a fun teacher. I heard them laugh. They laughed - during a math class! I am happy with the results, it turned out to be a great alternative to summer camp.

Thank you Ms. Sara and Ms. Stacia for making the classes interactive and engaging! It’s not easy to keep the students engaged in a live class for almost 2 hrs, we appreciate your patience and dedication! Vihaan waits for his EMC classes every week and says it’s the Best Math class ever!

He was the only kid in his district to qualify for the next stage of the contest!

We just heard from the family of our student, Matan! Matan is participating in the National Math Olympics in Mexico. It's a nation-wide math contest where you move up through different stages. HE WAS THE ONLY KID IN HIS DISTRICT TO QUALIFY FOR THE NEXT STAGE OF THE CONTEST! We are very happy for him. Next stage will be held in March and we wish Matan good luck!
Matan has been a student at EMC for 2 years.
“Matan really enjoys class – it has become a priority for him. He makes a point of having to be in class at EMC. It’s important for him, he appreciates being in an environment that helps him with his passion for numbers.”  - told us his mother Marcia Noa Gliksman

His parents came by to say hi and thanked me for being their kids’ math teacher.

I volunteered at a K12 marathon for education with a booth full of math games for the post-marathon fun. While I was there, a boy kept hanging around my booth, solving every problem I put out. I had this feeling I should recognize him, but couldn’t place it. Just before he left, I asked his name—and that’s when it clicked! He was a student from my early days of teaching in my garage, back when he was in kindergarten through 2nd grade. Now he’s all grown up (and still an EMC student), and his little sister, who was a baby back then, is now one of our students too. His parents came by to say hi and thanked me for being their kids’ math teacher.

Rita and Andrew

Rita, a 6th grader from Ukraine, likes art and is very talented. She often tells me that she doesn’t like math and isn’t very good at it, but she understands that she needs to learn it to go to a good college where she can pursue her art passion and become a successful artist. She moved to New York a couple of years ago when the war between Ukraine and Russia started. Rita has a lot going on besides worrying about her school grades and future college admissions. She goes to sleep very late, staying up at night to talk to her friends in Ukraine, which affects her ability to focus during the day. Often, when I ask her a question, she closes her eyes to get a quiet moment to concentrate and literally falls asleep because she’s so tired.
Andrew, her cousin, is also my student. He’s a gifted 2nd grader with lots of energy and lots of ADHD. During Rita’s lessons, if Andrew comes by, Rita and I are often challenged by his energy. This challenge is often more useful than harmful, as it helps Rita stay awake and engaged. This transformation is something I’m truly proud of. It’s a testament to the power of finding the right way to connect and engage with students. I’m very excited to share this journey with you all and even more so to see what Rita will create with her new math knowledge!

INTERVIEW

I even wanted to volunteer with Anna - to be closer to math and to this joyful atmosphere

Igor has ADHD, which means that he has a lot of discomfort with everything new, including people. At first he was not enthusiastic about the idea of going to a new class. Homeschooling would’ve fit him best socially, but at home he gets distracted quickly, while in a classroom setting it’s easier for him to concentrate. Besides, I wanted to teach him to communicate. In this sense Anna’s lessons were also a perfect fit for us - Anna has a huge experience of talking with children like Igor. Nothing annoys her; she found an amazing approach to him.
