Balance Scales: Solving Equations with Weights

A balance scale is a great tool to help us understand equations! When the scale is balanced, it means the weights on both sides are equal. If one side is heavier, you know it has more weight. For example, if a watermelon is heavier than an apple but lighter than a pineapple, we can compare the pictures to see which ones show this correctly. It’s like solving a mystery with weights!

Equations are like a balance scale in math. To keep them equal, we need to make sure both sides weigh the same. If a tiger’s weight is equal to the other side of the scale, the scale will stay balanced. Using this method, you can practice solving math problems by adding, subtracting, or swapping weights to keep things fair. Balancing equations is both fun and educational!
